Corrections Officer?
For its Recruitment Cycle 2026, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) is now accepting applications.
The Bureau of
Corrections (BuCor) is under the Department of Justice that is responsible for
the safekeeping and rehabilitation of prisoners who have been sentenced by the
courts. It does so in a progressive, effective, and productive manner. National
prisoners are those in BuCor’s custody who have been sentenced to three years
or more in prison.
Who are qualified to apply?
Applicants who choose to serve as a Corrections Officer I for the Bureau must meet the following requirements:
ü A citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;
ü A person of good moral character;
ü Must possess a baccalaureate degree from a recognized learning institution;
ü Must possess the appropriate civil service eligibility;
ü Must not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed for a cause from previous employment;
ü Must not have been convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude; and
ü Must not be less than twenty-one (21) or not more than forty (40) years of age; and
ü Must be at least one meter and sixty-two centimeters (1.57m.) in height for male, and one meter and fifty-seven centimeters (1.52m.) for female. Provided, that a waiver for height and age requirement/s may be granted to applicants belonging to the cultural communities
The age limit for applicants for Corrections
Officer I is 40 years old as per R.A. 10575
or “The Bureau of Corrections Act of 2013.” However, those above 36
years of age will have to sign a waiver agreeing that they may not be able to
qualify for the full retirement benefits afforded to a Uniformed Officer of BuCor.
Prior to submission of folders, applicants must secure the following:
a. BIR Number or Tax Identification Number
b. PAG-IBIG Number
c. Philhealth Number
The period for submitting application folders
for the position of Corrections Officer I is from November 10, 2025,
to December 31, 2025.
Applicants are required to observe the appropriate
dress code when submitting their application folders. The mandatory attire
is as follows: a white round-neck shirt, blue denim trousers, white
rubber shoes, white socks, and a black garrison belt with a
silver buckle. Additionally, male applicants must maintain a proper
haircut, and female applicants are required to secure their hair in a bun.
What are the documentary requirements for submission?
– Corrections Officer I Application Folders 1 and 2 must be TABBED as listed.
– Application Folder: WHITE LONG FOLDER and must be submitted PERSONALLY.
– Incomplete documents shall not be accepted.

A. Duly/Properly Accomplished Personal Data Sheet (PDS) must be notarized (Please refer to Guide to Filling Out the Personal Data Sheet)

NOTE: Only Folders 1 and 2 are to be initially submitted for pooling, folders 3 and 4 are to be submitted later announced date, subsequent to the result of the Agility test.
