August 2023 Food Technologists Licensure Exam Results
Out of 1,133 examinees, only 453 (39.98%) passed the August 2023 Food Technologists Licensure Examination administered by the Professional Board of Food Technology on August 10 and 11, 2023, at designated testing centers nationwide.
The results of the August
2023 Food Technologists Licensure Examination will be released on or before
August 16, 2023 (Wednesday) or three (3) working days from the last day of
examination in accordance with Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)
Resolution No. 1589, entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for
Year 2023“.
The two-day exam was held
on August 10 and 11, 2023 (Thursday and Friday) at various testing centers
throughout the National Capital Region (NCR), Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Koronadal,
Legazpi, Lucena, Rosales, and Zamboanga.
The examination was
conducted by the PRC Board of Food Technology, under the supervision of its
Chairman, Anthony C. Sales, and its member, Remedios V. Baclig.

can be a Professional Food Technologist without taking an exam?
The requirements
for registration without examination are outlined in Section 20 of Article III
of the Republic Act No. 11052.
The said qualification shall be granted to applicants who are holders of a
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology or its equivalent, or of any of the
following allied fields: Nutrition, Agriculture, Biochemistry or Molecular
Biology, Chemistry, fisheries, or Chemical Engineering from higher education
institutions in the Philippines or abroad, and who have been actively practicing
the profession of food technology, in the Philippines or abroad, for at
least five years. This provision is open to qualified applicants from the
Philippines and abroad who meet the requirements.

PASSING SCORE (%)
In order to pass the August 2023 Food Technologists Licensure Exam, examinees must obtain a passing rating of seventy-five percent (75%) in each subject.
However, if the
examinee obtains a passing rating in the majority of the subjects but obtains a
rating in the other subjects below 75% but lower than 60%, they shall be
allowed to take one removal exam on the subjects where the passing rate was not
obtained. If an examinee fails the removal exam, it shall be considered to have
failed the entire licensure examination.
