CPA RESULTS: September 2023 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Exam
The results of the September 2023 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPA) are expected to be released on October 6, 2023 (Friday), or in four (4) working days from the last day of the examination, in accordance with Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Resolution No. 1589, entitled “Schedule of Licensure Examination for Year 2023.”
Out of 8,734 examinees, only 2,740
(31.37%) passed the September 2023 Certified Public Accountant
Licensure Examination administered by the Professional Board of Accountancy on September
30, October 1 & 2, 2023, at designated testing centers nationwide.
The three-day examination was conducted last September 30, October 1, and October 2, 2023 (Sunday-Monday) at the different testing centers in the National Capital Region (NCR), Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calapan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga, and Palawan.
The
Professional Board of Accountancy, chaired by Noe G. Quiñanola, Vice Chairman
Samuel B. Padilla, and its members Gloria T. Baysa, Gloria T. Baysa, Thelma S.
Ciudadano, Gervacio I. Piator, Maria Teresita Z. Dimaculangan, and Rosalinda D.
Evangelista, administered the said examination.

Oathtaking of the Newly Certified Public Accountants
The Philippine
International Convention Center in Pasay City will be the venue for the
face-to-face mass oathtaking of the new Certified Public Accountants on November
27, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. The event will take place at the Reception Hall and
is anticipated to attract a large crowd.
Examinees
who have passed their exams and are looking to participate in the face-to-face
mass oathtaking ceremony are required to register no later than 12:00 noon on
the day before the scheduled event. To confirm their attendance, interested
parties must go to http://online.prc.gov.ph.
Inductees
are required to PRINT the Oath Form with their own generated QR. This will be
submitted during the oathtaking in order to be tagged as “attended”.
Further,
kindly bring ANY of the following on the day of the oathtaking:
a. Vaccination
Card
b. Negative
RT-PCR/COVID-19 anti-gen swab results taken within 48 hours before the
oathtaking
Those
who are unable to attend the scheduled face-to-face mass oathtaking may do so
online or request a special oathtaking. Once the schedule is established,
online oathtaking notifications will be made.

Did you know that the PRC can release exam results earlier than the expected date?
It has previously been observed that the PRC, as an implementing and policy-making body, may not adhere to the schedule for releasing exam results. Based on Resolution No. 1589, CPA exam results will be released on October 10, 2023.
However, there have been a few occasions where the PRC has released the results early, like the October 2022 CPA exam results, which were released nine days earlier than expected.
In conclusion, the results of the September 2023 CPA exam will be available at any moment or closer to the expected date of results.
Successful examinees are
advised to comply with Section 19, Article III of R.A. 11131, which mandates
that they take their oath of profession in person before the Board or any of
its members, and with the Accredited Professional Organization (APO) in an
oath-taking ceremony specifically organized for this purpose. Only individuals
who are members of the APO before practicing the profession may receive an oath
from any legally authorized person after passing the exam.

CPA PASSING SCORE
An examinee must obtain a weighted average rating of seventy-five percent (75%) with no grade less than sixty percent (65%) in any given subject to pass the September 2023 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPA).
VERIFICATION OF RATING
The verification of ratings and test results for the September 2023 CPA Exam given by the Board of Accountancy will be available via an online portal.
