iAccess fund transfer versus keeping your husband’s ATM card

iAccess fund transfer versus keeping your husband’s ATM card

iAccess fund transfer is one of the features of LandBank that facilitates the transfer of monetary funds (such as salaries) from one account to another via a mobile application.

This article only applies to the wives or partners of our uniformed personnel, whose husbands’ payroll ATM cards are traditionally seized or taken away by them.

We know that a husband and wife are obliged to provide mutual assistance and support. Marriage creates a support responsibility. The right to support stays until the court declares the marriage void.

At present, wives have practically seized their husband’s ATM card for several reasons:

1. They are in-charge of managing the household budget;

2. It is convenient for them to take possession of an ATM card, which they can withdraw instantly rather than send via remittance center; and lastly,

3. They don’t trust their husband’s way of spending money.

Did you know that your husband has already violated the PNP Guidelines on Tamang Bihis if he can’t present his ATM card during an unannounced or surprise inspection?

Now, what will happen then?

The personnel who failed to present their ATM cards and violated the Tamang Bihis will be liable for Simple Neglect of Duty up to Less Grave Neglect of Duty and can be suspended for a period ranging from 30 days to 59 days. Thus, suspension means no bonuses such as PBB, midyear, year-end and other incentives.

Why should a wife use iAccess fund transfer instead of her husband’s ATM card?

The Philippine National Police (PNP) released Memorandum Circular 2014-004 on February 4, 2014, titled “Updated Guidelines and Procedures in the Handling of Mandatory ATM Pay and Allowance Accounts of PNP Personnel with the Landbank of the Philippines.” This is a reminder to all PNP personnel that their PNP ATM card, provided by the PNP Finance Service, is part of their uniform and should be carried AT ALL TIMES.

In this article, we will walk you through how to use and/or activate your husband’s LandBank iAccess account.
