National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) Executive Director lawyer Cliburn Anthony Orbe was asked during round 6 of the FIDE Online Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities.
One
of the viewers asked Atty Orbe, “Atty.
How did you manage law school while playing chess during your cute days.”
The
chess player lawyer responded with a smile as he remembers a story of his law

While
his classmate was pressured by his studies, Atty. Orbe was playing chess at the
plaza with no worries about the final exams.
“My response to that is I
studied way way before. The day before the exam, ready na.” The only way for me
to study for my class is to wake up 4am and read my books up to 7am and go to
work,” Atty. Orbe added.
The
chess player lawyer used to wake up at 4 o’clock in the morning consistently to
study because he was a working student.
“Time management is key in
surviving law school” – Atty Orbe.
