BE A PMA CADET
The start of the journey of a Filipino youth who dreams to embrace the profession of arms, through the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), is when he submits his application form to the Office of Cadet Admission (OCA) for processing, so that he can take the Philippine Military Academy Cadet Qualification Test (PMACQT).
After receiving the Test Permit from the OCA, the applicant will
report to the designated Examination Center on the date indicated on the
permit. The applicant is to bring said Test Permit so that s/he will be allowed
by the Proctors to take the Exam. If the applicant passes the Exam, s/he will
receive a written notice from OCA informing him of the result of the Exam and
instructing him to report to AFP, Medical Center (AFPMC). He will then undergo
the Complete Physical Examination (CPE) where his medical, physical, mental and
emotional condition will be examined to determine his readiness and fitness for
the military training in the Academy. CPE takes days, so a cadet candidate is
required to stay in the billeting area provided by the Academy in AFPMC.
Qualifications to be a PMA Cadet
- Natural Born Filipino Citizen.
- Physically fit and of good moral character.
- Single and has never been married.
- Must pass the PMA Entrance Examination.
- No Administrative / Criminal Case.
- At least High School Graduate or must graduate not later than June of the year following the date of examination taken for Grade 12 students (K-12).
- Height Requirement for both Male and Female is 5 feet (not to exceed 6’4″ for both).
- At least 17 years old but not a day older than 22 years on 01 June of the year following the date of examination taken.
- Note: Applicants younger than 17 years old but or and at least 16 years old on 01 April following the date examination may apply for cadetship provided that the applicant possesses the above mentioned qualifications. Should the applicant pass the qualifying exam, the procedure in handling the underage applicants will apply.

Medical Disqualifications
There are three

center?
Answer: YES, go the center
on exam day and inform the proctor about your circumstances.

Is there a limit to how many times I can take the exam?
Answer: NONE, so long as

applied by mail but I did not receive a permit or notice?
Answer: Check the master
list for online applicants to verify if you are qualified to take the exam. If
you are not in the list and you think you are qualified, contact the academy
registrar. If you are in the list, proceed to the exam center on examination

the whole morning (7am to 11am) will be for administrative aspects of the exam
(fill up forms, limited physical examination, etc). The exam proper starts at
exactly 12.00 noon and will last up to 4.30 pm.

PMA Entrance Examination aims to measure the mental ability of applicants in
the areas of MATH (Algebra and Geometry), ENGLISH (Grammar, Composition, and

If the applicant successfully makes it, he will be required to report to PMA Liaison Office in AFPMC for final processing during the last week of March before s/he will be brought to Philippine Military Academy (PMA) on April 01 for the Oath-Taking Ceremony and Reception Rites, signaling his official entry to the Academy as member of a PMA Class.
From then on, and during the four years stay in the Academy. S/he will undergo the education and training in the Academy designed to prepare her/him into becoming an officer of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the soldier of the Filipino people.
