Netizens call for demonetization of Buknoy’s Youtube Channel
Buknoy Glamour a.k.a Andrew Luis Lapid is a 16-year-old Tiktoker, Youtube content creator with an estimated subscribers of 480K and he was born on August 4, 2004.
He became a trending topic in all social media after his video went viral for allegedly belittling tricycle drivers.
In
the video, he said: “Gusto ko talaga sabihin sa inyo is ‘wag na ‘wag kayo sumuko mangarap,
‘wag na ‘wag kayong sumuko na tuparin ‘yung mga pangarap niyo kasi kung hindi
kayo magsusumikap sa buhay, walang-wala kayong mararating, tulad nito,” (Referring to a passing tricycle driver)
Netizens
were not happy and would like to lecture Buknoy for making such insensitive comment.
However,
Buknoy made a public (sincere) apology for his viral comment on July 3, 2020
but the netizens remain unsatisfied.
Meanwhile,
a netizen questioned Buknoy’s qualification on the Google Adsense Account as
well as his Youtube account on the ground of age requirement.
According
to Google, thirteen (13) is the
minimum age to manage or create a Google Account and eighteen (18+) to receive a Google Adsense payment or can apply for
Google Adsense Account.
Buknoy’s
Youtube channel was created in December 21, 2014. He was only 10 years old when
he created his youtube channel!
According
to Youtube Official Blog, “YouTube has never been for kids under 13,
we created YouTube Kids as a way for kids to be able to safely explore their
interests and for parents to have more control. Accounts belonging to people UNDER 13 ARE TERMINATED WHEN DISCOVERED.
In fact, we terminate thousands of accounts per week as part of this process”.
